I decided to start with some B&W to practice with before having to worry about colors (plus it's cheaper). I was not sure which stock to start with to just shoot random stuff outdoors at the park, and other outdoor sceens. I picked 7231 50D. I just received it and looked at the box. The box say it's 3200K which is tungsten. What's going to happen if I shoot this outdoors? I know that if it was color, it would have a blue glow to it unless I had an 85 filter. Being it's B&W, what's going to happen? Do I need a filter of sorts? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Zamir Merali Posted May 15, 2007 Share Posted May 15, 2007 If the stock is black and white you can shoot in any colour temperature and the image will look fine. Black and white film is slightly more sensitive to the blue end of the spectrum, therefore it has a higher sensitivity when used in daylight (where the light is blue) than it does under tungsten (where the light is orange).
