Robert Glenn
Perhaps a silly question but it seems that for most ang lenses, the minimum focus distance is 5 feet. Is that a big problem or is most filming done from a distance anyway? THanks
Kenny N Suleimanagich
I have found it extremely annoying and hindersome. It's a zoom lens so if youre far away it's alright but most common-used primes get as close as a foot, so shooting close is a good thing to be able to do. Guest Ian Marks
Some of the Angenieux zoom focus closer - notably the 9.5 to 57mm, and (I think) the 10 to 150mm. The very common 12 to 120mm doesn't focus very close, at least by fixed focal length standards. The easiest solution is to carry a set of Series 9 close-up lenses (usually a +1, +2, and +3), which you use in your filter holder in front of the lens, and focus by eye. The 9.5-95mm focuses closer than 5'. In the range of 3.5' or 1 meter. That lens is basically a 12-120mm with a big afocal wide angle section at the front. Afocal attachments in addition to changing the focal also alter the focus by the same ratio. Inf. x any number is inf. Most older zooms including Pan Cinors usually only focused to 5' or 6'. Robert Glenn
so how do diopters look when you're wide angled?
