Jamie Metzger
Working on a video, we want terrible flares. I'm not sure how that's going to translate through an adapter and to HD, but I was looking for Uncoated, old lenses that really don't hold up too well. I'd like to do a test on them before principal. I'm in san francisco. Any thoughts?

Mitch Gross
You could put aluminum foil in the mattebox like they did on the first Die Hard. Flare city. There's also something called a Streak Filter, which is a glass with parallel lines etched in it. Makes great flare effects.
Logan Schneider
It is pretty expensive to buy a few lenses and really take off the coatings, which would be ideal. You could try hitting the lens with a flashlight or fixture from outside the frame. Lens flares added in post never really look right.

If you put hot point sources in the frame or just outside the frame you will get the effect you desire as long as the prime has a tendency to do that. The Brevis will not reduce or increase that tendency.
