Arri ST self service?

Oliver,

If you have an ARRI oiler and some of the ARRI special oil, you can oil the camera at the two spots located inside with the white arrows. Unfortunately, unless the rest of the camera is very well lubricated, that really doesn't do much good.

The other option, if you really want to do it yourself, is to spend a couple of years studying the camera under the tutelage of one of the few remaining ARRI techs who know how to work on these old cameras (unfortunately they are a dying breed, literally and figuratively), and invest in about $3000 worth of ARRI specific tools, and do it yourself.

It really is alot cheaper to just send it to a technician though.

If you want to read about getting the most from your Arriflex 16St camera, visit the web page below and click on the "Getting the most out of your Arriflex" link. It will tell you all the things an ARRI trained technician can do for your camera and why those things matter.
