Guest s ruitenbeek
Hello, A big 3D animation production is going to be rendered. Digital beamers only give a maximum of 1024x768 pixels and give poor coloures. The animation is going to be shown not in a cinema but in a museum for contemporary art. I assume there are porjectors for such environments. In what resolution shoot the animation be rendered to be converted to 35 MM film? In what resolution shoot the animation be renderen to be converted to 16 MM film? What is the best way to convert digital footage to film? Or is there a better way, by keeping it digital but still getting high presentation quality? Thanks, Stefan Ruitenbeek
Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted September 25, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted September 25, 2004 Hi, You need to discuss this with whoever's doing your output - generally someone like Swiss Effects or Framestore CFC. Computer animation for film is generally rendered at 2048x1556 in 10-bit log, with the centre portion of the image equating to a widescreen frame if your output will not be scope.
