Steve Zimmerman
Hello, I own a round front 75mm Lomo anamorphic lens. I want to shoot some of those Lynch-style (when he was still shooting film) macro closeups. What is the filter diameter for this lens? Some of these diopters are special order and cannot be returned. Would I be better off buying an oversized diopter and mounting it in a mattebox instead of a specific size? It would be cool to to use the diopters with my 35mm square front anamorphic lens too. What do you all think? http://www.geocities.com/kinor35/lenses/le...-35bas-23-2.htm Thanks, Steve Zimmerman

Be interested to hear if you work something out! love Freya
Steve Zimmerman
I am understanding right what you mean about wanting to shoot macro. Thanks for the response. I guess I don't want to shoot THAT sort of macro shot. I know there is a lot of light loss using extention tubes, and I have a slower F=2.5 lens. The backing lens and the anamorphic section focus differently.

Leo Anthony Vale
Do tele-extenders work with anamorphic primes? Yes. Of couse there is a light loss. & on shorter lens the rear element might not clear the elements in the extender. But the same holds for shorter spherical lenses. 50mm ought to be okay, 35mm...maybe, maybe not. Depends on specific lens and extender.
Premium Member Bruce Taylor Posted September 5, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted September 5, 2007 Steve Morton had an interesting post on the Konvas.org site yesterday (Monday)- he lists a surplus optics company http://www.surplusshed.com/ and the unmounted len elements that could be used as a large (over 100mm dia.)diopter if anyone is interested. Take a look at the discussion list. Bruce

I checked out the site and the lenses seem cheap enough to experiment with. Edited September 5, 2007 by Steve Zimmerman
