can you identify this Chrosziel mattebox?

My apologies for posting this yesterday under an inaccurate topic title.

I picked up a used Chrosziel matte box that I'd like to adapt to my JVC DY5000.

There is no model number on the matte box. It has two filter holders stamped 402-04, one of which rotates. The matte box has a mounting adapter stamped Dia 102, and it has an inside diameter of 102mm. See images:

The local Chrosziel dealer says they've never heard of a 102mm clamp adapter. Maybe what they used to call 102mm is now called 104mm?

Can anyone identify this matte box, so I know what it is I need to purchase to work with my camera? Thanks in advance...

are you sure that is a clamp? It looks like some sort of rim to me.. clamp should have a screw mechanism for securing it on the lense barrel.. I don't think chrosziel has clamps for 102mm with 4x4.. I had to drill and hack mine to put a clamp on that was a little larger than 105mm.. it works like a charm btw :D

Yeah, that doesn't look like any kind of "clamp adapter" to me. It just looks like a plastic doughnut that fit over the front of the barrel. That doesn't explain why there aren't rings for rods, though.

What does that knob on the bottom of the mattebox do? Perhaps that is where the appropriate bracket for rods would go on?

Neither Chrosziel, 16x9 or ZGC were able to help, but after a lot of Googling, I found Carl Schlesinger at TCS in NYC, and he knew exactly what I have (pre 1990 matte box) and he had a 102-85mm step down ring, as well as an eyebrow (the eyebrow's sold today are a few mm smaller, and the tabs don't fit on the mounting screws).

My plan is to pick up a "Universal rod system," which some guy on eBay sells from his shop in India. Then, it's going to be files, drills and cursing to put the whole thing together. That screw under the front of the matte box is going to end up being the attachment point. If it doesn't work, I'll ebay the pieces and just go out and purchase a proper matte box, like I should have done in the first place.

Oh yeah thats' right - it's a step down ring..

The screw at the bottom *should* be for a rod support; it is for mine anyway. It slides in and the screw tightens it. Maybe I can shoot a photo of it for you. It would be far better to pay the money for a replacement than trying to center a rigged rod support for your lens!

If you have time to shoot a photo, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
