I want to ask what kind of material is usually used for translight, or what´s yours experiences with differents materials.

nobody? Please if somebody used during a shooting Translight as a background write me your experiences with it. If u used some banner scrim or backlit scrim, or which kind of material for print onto it....thank you very much

I can understand your frustration, I did a google search and almost nothing came up for sales of translight backgrounds.

 

I know Storaro used translights by Rosco for the film "Tango", but I'm not sure if they make them anymore. I could only find a handful companies, but they don't necessarily specialize in translights/lites:

First there is no specific answer to what translights are made from. They are made from as many materials as there are companies making them. there is some type of rigid polystyrene that seems to work good, there is vinyl which is heavy and difficult to back light. I have used muslin translights, and sharktooth scrims. It all seems to hinge on the application. shooting night, day , pictoral scene, city scape, landscape, etc. size etc.

Thanks very much for tips...I need it to use for city scape scenery, on both day and night.I´am thinking about use of muslin, or it´s special banner scrims for digital printing, but but it´s necessary to do the camera test.. so thank you very much ,-)
