16mm that looks like Super-8

I don't mean this as an insult to the makers of "Funny ha ha". Afterall, it made to the Sundance channel, but dang if this doesn't look like Super-8.

 

I checked out the IMDB page for Funny ha ha, and I found the following comment in middle of a review of the movie. ....."The film is so refreshingly free of production values. It's like looking at old home movies of people you once cared about but have since outgrown."

 

If you want to see what Super?8 would look like with decent double system sound recording, check out Funny ha ha, even though this movie was actually shot on 16mm. :unsure:

Even though I think the movie looks a bit like slightly grainy kodachrome 40, it would still be a bit of a challenge starting off with that look and then not losing anymore of the picture quality by the time it made it to the final release or broadcast copy, but not impossible.
