Filter holder

Hello,

 

I'm going to be shooting and want to use a filter for some shots. During the shoot I may need to take the filter in and out several times.

 

Since I don't want to handle the filter too much, and I do want to keep things speedy during the shoot, I'm wondering if I can just leave the filter holder out, and simply cover its slot with a piece of black camera tape for the shots that don't need the filter. Any downside to this?

Will work no problem. Always usefull to have a second filter holder, which is easier to replace than applying tape
