Scottie Mei
Hi, i am shooting few interior scenes in a mansion with a lot of restrictions. no screws or nails, and I wanted to create a soft top light for general ambience. I am not a big fan of bouncing off ceiling because it is hard to control the spill. i wonder if there is any light weight fixture I can hang overhead without extensive rigging. i thought about rigging something like ringlights or kino bulbs without the housing, but I am pen to any suggestions. thanks for your help. Premium Member Kevin Zanit Posted February 25, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted February 25, 2008 A balloon light could be a good choice. They are easy to skirt off the walls also, no real rigging needed, and make a nice soft light. Kevin Zanit
Bob Hayes
I would thin china balls would be the way to go. Depending on the ceiling you might find some features to attatch them to.
Jason Davenport
A 1K Chimera Pancake lantern works really well. And has skirts for spill. And have a dimmer on it as well. That would do the trick. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/2186...ftbox_with.html
Kiarash Sadigh
Depending on the size of your space you can take to sky-high stands and run a grid pipe between them and hand your lights on it. I would normally use this set up with a 20 feet pipe, then I hang my Kinos from it...no screws or nails involved and the stands are on wheels so you can move them around for tweaking.... Also consider a 2K lighting boom pole for smaller spaces....
Valerio Sacchetto
wall spreaders and/or autopoles are not an option? Otherwise you can put up some nice lighting with a lot of flexibility and really little rigging.
timHealy
Matthews has the Max stand. It looks a bit like and Erector Set gone wild but it does have its uses. http://www.msegrip.com/mse.php?show=produc...oducts_ID=26560 Best Tim
