Ype Poortinga
Which one is the better choise for outdoor scenes in a super16 production in terms of grain and sharpness, vision2 500t corrected with the 85 filter or the vision 250d?
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted October 19, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted October 19, 2004 I think they are pretty similar, grain-wise, especially if you rate the 7218 with the 85 filter at 200 or 250 ASA. So the difference then would be in terms of contrast and saturation, with 250D being slightly higher in contrast and saturation, Vision-2 being a less harsh look. If you are trying to take some of the flatness out of overcast weather, I'd probably stick to the 250D, rated at 160 ASA maybe. In sunny conditions, you probably should be using a slower-speed stock anyway.
Mitch Gross
Of course there's a 250D Vision2 stock coming out any day now...

Matt Pacini
I just love the look of 250D. Can't wait to use the 250D Vision2. I've thought of shooting some for interiors just to see how it looks. Has anyone done this without a filter? Matt Pacini
