Giuseppe Valentino
Hello everybody. I'm looking for a wide angle for my Bolex REX 5. I've been looking around and I've found an Angenieux 10mm f1.8 Retrofocus and a Schneider Cinegon 10mm. Do this lenses need to be marked RX? If not a Switar, which kind of wide angle can I get, even wider then 10mm for a Bolex REX 5 regular 16mm? I've been around in the forum but no straight answer on the RX issue. Any suggestion or direct experience with some other lenses is appreciated. Thanks Giuseppe
Gordon Nelson
Here's an explanation of why you use RX lenses: http://www.city-net.com/~fodder/bolex/truth.html "RX RULE: STANDARD C-MOUNT LENSES WILL WORK WELL THROUGH THE BOLEX PRISM PROVIDED THAT THEY ARE STOPPED-DOWN PAST ABOUT F/3.2" I would get a Switar 10mm RX. I think its a better lens that the Som-Berthiot or Angenieux.
