JVC Glove

I am going on a shoot to the border area of Nepal and Tibet where apparently it is quite dusty. So I am considering buying a protective glove for the JVC 200. I know porta-brace makes one and Kata has one on their website but says it is unavailable. Has anyone used either of these products and what has your experience been with them? Thanks

I have a Kata camera cover for a JVC 251. I leave it off a hell of a lot.

The viewfinder glove is silly and does not work. It fits, but the viewfinder slides and rotates which makes the glove bunch up.

The clear window looks nice for the flip out electronic screen but gets in the way when opened.

When in playback mode you need to access the VTR buttons and means that the glove is in the way.

 

So I have it on about 40% of the time for simple shoots and off for heavy shoots.

 

I hire the camera out and never have it on for those times even though it needs it being on hire.

The Kata glove gets too much negative feed back from clients and that means no repeat customers for me.

So no glove and happy clients and I take the risk off scratches and bumps.
