about "My Architect"

Hi all,

 

A few days ago, I saw again this beautiful documentary that is My Architect. I found the cinematography very elegant, soft and finally, very emotionnal.

I was quite surprised when I checked on imdb to see that they shot in dv. For me, a lot of shots seem like film..

 

Do you know what equipment they used on this film and how did they achieve that look?

The beautiful b-roll footage of 'My Architect' was shot on film; the interviews were mostly shot on video. At some points, Kahn is seen filming with a Bolex photographing his father's buildings.

 

Nothing is better than film. :)

...16mm Bolex and I remember noticing that they were shooting on BetaSP. It is probably a mix of DV, 16mm and Betacam. Lovely film for sure.
