neil orchard
Does anyone have any ideas for unique lighting for a low budget game show. were shooting with 6 hvx's and cutting live. Theres an overhead grid and we have a bunch of 1k's, 650's, 300's, and 150's. and lots of gels and diffusion. were going for a basement gameshow look for college students does anyone have any suggestions for gel stlye or any suggestions in general? Thanks Neil
Steve McBride
Get some sort of brick wall behind the contestants (if that is what's called for for the set) and use one or two of the 1K's at the top to cast the light and use some 150's as small lights at the top to create a streetlight feel. Then use the 350's to back light the contestants with the 600's as your key. With gameshows, you need to get a good feel for the environment and stage so throw some splashes of magenta and blue into it with gels. Sorry about the non-technical names for stuff, I'm still a student and learning stuff. Good luck!

Premium Member Tim Terner Posted September 9, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted September 9, 2008 Sounds as though it's going to be awefully hot in there. No chance of Kino's ?
Ram Shani
you can go with soft top light and add were ever you like it a house hold bulb to give basement look. if it's to contrast you can add eye light Edited September 10, 2008 by Ram Shani
