I am planning to put a reel up and I am trying to find out what is the best way to do it. Youtube, Google Video? or is there a much better, higher quality way to do it? Thanks a lot.

I assume that people don't take a reel seriously that has been posted on youtube or googlevideo. At least Vimeo would be decent quality, but having your own website is probably the best way to go in the end.

You own site is most certainly prefferable.

Blip.tv, though, will let you hotlink to your uploaded file, which can be nice. That way you can have people download a higher quality .mov as opposed to being forced to stream a .flv

What is the best way to get the videos on my own site though? Like, how do you approach that. If I have my own website and want to put a reel up on it, how should I do that?

Vimeo.com or exposureroom.com (XR).

The great thing about XR is that they give you 3 different sizes from your single HD file. Great for embedding on bloggs and sites where the space is limited.

IF you have your own site and know HTML coding you can use an embed tag to put it up; but it'll take a bit to download. What i do is run my video through the adobe flash encoder that came with the suite and then use a dreamweaver temple for the flash object. It's pretty simple if you have your own webspace; just google for some code or get friendly with someone who does sites.
