The SMPTE specification for linear timecode indicates that only two binary bits are allocated for the frames tens digit; ergo, it has a maximum value of three. Can anyone fill me in on what the changes are to enable 60-frame timecode to happen? Did they finally assign the previously-unused bit 58 to this? I read that VITC uses the field marker to identify odd and even frames of 59.94fps video, but what of LTC? Or do I just have to pony up the cash and buy the standard...
