Guest Daniel J. Ashley-Smith
Daniel for someone who claims not to use Mac you sure have sweeping general opinions of the platform. Admittedly if one chooses to work with Mac is going against the grain, and in some circumstances it is easier to work with a Wintel macine. I've just never taken to the Mac thats all. It's always seemed locked up to me, I don't feel in control with it. It's like the difference between using a games console and a PC I find. I've used PC systems for a long while now. It's kind of hard to change all of a sudden, and I've always been happy with PC. But you don't need to be a Mac expert to tell if the components are expensive or not. Tenolian Bell
But you don't need to be a Mac expert to tell if the components are expensive or not. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Which is my point a Mac is not like buying components. It is a whole complete system.

It is a whole complete system. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well yes but you can still customize it to a degree on their web site. i.e. add an extra stick of ram e.t.c. And it will give you the prices for the extra components aswell.
Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted December 18, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted December 18, 2004 Hi, I don't really think it's that contentious to contend that Mac components are often expensive. On the other hand, it's perfectly possible to put standard components in them and make savings. Phil
Guest Daniel J. Ashley-Smith
It's just a case of building a system that Mac will recognise.
Tenolian Bell
Well oh yeah everyone knows not to buy RAM from Apple. That's like buying a CD from the Virgin Megastore. There are plenty of places to purchase cheap RAM.
