PROCESSING KODAK FINE GRAIN POSITIVE FILM

I came across this while going through a copy of KODAK FILMS, 6th edition, first 1955 printing.

 

Under KODAK FINE GRAIN POSITIVE FILM AKA 5302 it gives "Exposure and Development Recommendations for Copying".

 

If copying a continuous tone original use an exposure index of 1.2 for daylight and EI 0.3 for tungsten. Develop in D-76 at 68 F with continuous agitation for 3 minutes .

 

For a line original, EI 12 for daylight and EI 3 for tunsten. Develop in D-11 at 68 F with continuous agitation for 7 minutes.

 

The usual recommended EI is 6 with positive developing, I reckon the EI 12 and 7 minutes processing is for really high contrast.

 

I suspect the EI 1.2 with a negative developer with give rather pretty results, but needs high speed lenses for sunlight.
