konstantin smola
I'll shoot a shortfilm this summer on Super8. I'm not sure which Audio recorder to use. What would you guys recommend? An old Nagra 4.2 or the Fostex FR2 LE ? Thanks!

Alex Donkle
Seeing as those appear to be rather random to compare unless you have access to both of them, why not try them both out and play them back one after the other? My guess is you won't like recording to tape.
Brian Drysdale
I'd check out which medium whoever is editing your film would like to receive, but I suspect you'll need to take the Nagra in order to download the audio. The tapes themselves are no big deal, although at 7 1/2 inches per second (the usual recording speed) they tend to record 15 to 20 minutes. Quality wise, a correctly set up Narga 4.2 records high quality audio.
