ALC
Hi, Do you guys know where I can find a print of the ACVL handbook? Apparently there's been a flooding in the basement of the publishing house, and all copies were lost. Thanks, -ALC
Premium Member John Pytlak RIP Posted January 11, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted January 11, 2005 The Association of Cinema and Video Laboratories ACVL Handbook is available on-line: http://www.acvl.org/manual.htm The ACVL website also has a directory of member labs, who may have paper copies available: http://www.acvl.org/members.htm

Premium Member John Pytlak RIP Posted January 11, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted January 11, 2005 All the links in that handbook are 404'd. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They had been working when I last accessed the site a few weeks ago. I don't know which ACVL officer would be in charge of the site: http://www.acvl.org/officers.htm The webmaster is kim@webworkscreative.com
Rob Belics
They are ALWAYS working on that or at least appear to. I emailed them once about how several of their pictures didn't show up and cited one in particular. They fixed the one about a month later but none of the others. ALC
I was really looking for a hard copy, because of all the problems with the website mentioned above and then some. I was hoping one of you guys had an extra copy and would be willing to sell it to me :D But I could also contact each member lab and ask for one! Thanks for your helpful suggestions! -ALC
Dominic Case
All the links in that handbook are 404'd. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> With a bit of digging you can recover most of the missing pages at the Wayback web archive The manual has been due for revision for sometime: it's only available on-line at the moment, and as you've found, it's not even available like that! Since it's due for revision, any particular comments from anyone who has a print copy of the manual?
Dominic Case
Do you guys know where I can find a print of the ACVL handbook?THis thread has almost died - but I have the answer to the original question. Hollywood Film Company has a large stock of the ACVL handbook - Contact details on HFC's website or email Vince Carabello at vjc@hollywoodfilmco.com I believe it's $21 plus p&p, but check with HFC. And hopefully the on-line (but still-to-be-revised) version will be up and working again in a few days.
