Cary Sato Lee Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Just wanted to know has anyone had any problems with keeping camera sync at 24fps. using a Perfectone MST Motor? In addition, Is there really a need to have a motorlock device to have correct sync, or is the MST motor is all you really need? Motorlock site: http://www.webtfg.com/sync9.htm
Premium Member Bernie O'Doherty Posted December 31, 2009 Premium Member Posted December 31, 2009 There should not be a problem holding sync with this motor. All the crystal unit does is to eliminate the sync cable to the recorder. The mst motor is not crystal, but, via the sync cable, delivers a 60 cycle pulse to the recorder which maintains speed. Check if you are generally in speed by zeroing the frame counter on the camera. Run the camera with dummy film for ten seconds. Your frame counter should read very close to 240 frames when you stop the camera.
