Bob Prichard
I want to buy a teleprompter because I am going to make a series of short videos. I see a number of them available for under $2000 and wonder if anyone has tried any of them and what you thought? I plan to get a 15" screen for easy reading, plan to use it mostly indoors, but might do some outside shooting, and have a Mac laptop. Also, on one shoot, I saw someone use something that looked like a small rheostat to adjust the speed of the teleprompter, but have not seen anything like this for sale. Can someone tell me what this is called and where I can get it? Appreciate your help in this matter.
Kevin Fox
Bob: I too am looking for a teleprompter. Try here http://www.prompterpeople.com/index.php for the prompter and software, and here http://www.autocue.info/powermate.htm for the scroll "thingy". (that's a technical term, btw!) Hope that helps. kfox
Michael K Bergstrom
I've been using a Prompter People teleprompter for years now, and love it, very easy to set up, and packs light and small for travel. Built some duvetene sides for it for light blockage, but the software is easy to understand, and the mirror is bright and easy to read.
Mark Richardson
I know that this may not work for every situation, but I recently created an app for iPad that works as a simple teleprompter. I do a fair amount of corporate video for a small company, so this works great as we already had an iPad. The app is free. Just search the iPad store for "On Air" It's pretty basic but I plan to add functionality, like the ability to control speed with a "linked" iphone. You can also visit the app's website here: http://www.ragusmedia.com/onair
