Check this out: http://www.hdrlabs.com/occ/index.html Mike Bergstrom asked me to build him one this summer, and by the looks of it, it seems pretty simple to throw together. I'll know more once I put the first one together. All the software is free and the design is readily available (including schematic and PCB layout art.) so if you know how to solder or know someone who does, this could be quite inexpensive.
