Combination Filters

Hi,

 

If I use a 85ND0.3 combination filter, is the total light loss: 2/3rd stop (85) + 1 stop (0.3ND)? Is this true of any combination of filters or should i really go to the manufacturer to get the actual light loss? In this example, I'm thinking about a Tiffen 4x5.65 85ND0.3.

That's correct. Any variations between manufacturers is small enough that the latitude of color negative handles it. Slide film is less forgiving.
