New to Super8

Hello everyone, i stumbled upon this forum in my quest to find super 8 film for my newly acquired Argus 822. ive only ever used digital camcorders and know nothing about film, but i am eager to learn.

 

a few questions:

 

what is the best way to develop super8 film

 

where is a good place to buy the film

 

and what is the best type of super8 film

 

im sure i could just search these forums and find these answers but i figured this would be a nice way to introduce myself :)

I'd suggest a really easy way to get started is to order some Ektachrome 100D Super 8 film directly from Kodak or from Dwayne's Photo in Kansas.

 

Once you have the film, test your camera out by shooting the roll. Try shooting people, flowers, whatever. Then send it to Dwayne's for processing AND have them transfer it to a data DVD (if you are into editing on a computer). You should also pick up a projector and actually project your film as well.

 

The only way to learn film is to do it. Soon you get a feel for its best applications... where film works best and video works best. It's alot of fun and becomes addicting.
