Simon Reynolds
My brother and I were asked to shoot a behind the scenes documentary of a music video being shot in and around Bristol. We were using the Sony EX1R in 1080p, while the main unit were shooting on the Sony PMW-350 XDCAM. Some of the video was shot in a studio, and some on location. I shall post some screen grabs, and the finished documentary when it's done, but here are some on set stills for now.

Simon Reynolds
Hmm the time code Iphone stuck to the slate is pretty cool, is that a minjack to lemo cable? Hey, No it's just a mini jack to mini jack. The timecode you see, is a pre-made movie with the song as the audio track. We were outputting the audio down the cable for playback. I don't know if there are any apps that can allow iPods to read or generate timecode, but this solution is fine for music videos.

Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted July 8, 2010 Premium Member Share Posted July 8, 2010 LTC is just an audio signal. Make up a movie with said LTC signal as the soundtrack, and you're golden. You can do this with anything that's capable of playing back a movie. Of course, if you're feeling just slightly more advanced, it isn't usually very hard to write code to do it properly. Simon Reynolds
We were asked to make this documentary by Creative Video to showcase the Sony XDCAM kit they had provided for the shoot. They also wanted to showcase how a typical, low budget music video might get put together. The documentary was produced to coincide with an article that CVP had produced for their new AV magazine The Iris, and also to go on their website. You can see the final video:here (10 mins) Some more screens and photos:
