Dylan Magruder
When I was a little kid we would always take long, 7 hour, drives to see my grandmother in Florida. To keep my sister and me entertained, my parents had a nice little TV for us to watch VHS tapes one. Well now I'm in high school and we don't use the TV anymore so I was wondering, would there be a way I could use a normal, 4x3 SD TV as a video monitoring for editing? Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted September 2, 2010 Premium Member Share Posted September 2, 2010 There are ways, but for what purpose? Unless you're shooting SD. It won't give you a true reference, unless you have it calibrated nicely; not impossible, but you'd need to drop bars onto it. There is a company called Canopus which makes a fire-wire to SD box which Final Cut Pro sees just as another deck and has bi-directional video flow. A few hundred bucks for one last I checked. I use one sometimes when I need to do a live flash stream for whatever reason.
