Anamitra Chakladar
Hi, I am very excited with the Canon 5D2...specially in the handling of the camera in low light situation. I might be shooting a TVC with a 5D2, and will require it to do a reverse telecine...I have 2 questions... 1.should I go with 2k or can I ramp it up to 4k and any emulsion that you will reccommend. 2.Any advice that any of you doyens can offer me in this regards will be highly appreciated. Cheers and wishing you all a Happy New Year ! Read more: http://www.cinematography.com/index.php?showtopic=49694#ixzz19gBBEvYd
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted December 31, 2010 Premium Member Share Posted December 31, 2010 There's no real reason to uprez Canon 5D footage to 4K when it barely resolves more than 750 lines before aliasing kicks in. 2K is fine. Phil Holland
I agree with David. I've shot out 5D Mark II and 7D material on a Arrilaser Recorder and did some uprez and sharpen tests at 4k. You'll be fine at 2k.
