Thomas Worth
I have a shoot with an Arri LT next weekend. I have storyboarded the film, and one of the shots calls for a speed ramp from 50 to 24fps. There is a line of dialogue when at 24fps. First of all, does the LT support this feature, and if so, what type of controller will I need? Does the LT use an electronic shutter or will some device designed to stop down the iris at 24fps need to be employed? Or will it need to be turned by hand? Any ideas? :)
Premium Member Max Jacoby Posted February 15, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted February 15, 2005 (edited) First of all the LT only goes up to 40fps. The ST goes up to 60 fps, but it is of course heavier. Both of these cameras have an electronic shutter, but you still need a Lens Data Box (which fits on to the side of the camera) to do speedramps. You can either compensate with the shutter, the iris or both. Edited February 15, 2005 by audiris

Premium Member Max Jacoby Posted February 15, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted February 15, 2005 For an iris pull you need to add a motor to the lens. The system comes with 3 motors: focus, iris and zoom.
