Marcus Allemann
Was just curious to know from anyone familiar with these cameras to give a little insight on how they compare. I'm a tad familiar with the Aaton XTR prod and had a brief gander at the Arri 416 and was surprised to see the mag design on the Aaton is virtually the same so it started me thinking what exactly puts either camera ahead of the other in terms of either specs, design, functionality etc. then also not having had a look in on the film side of the Aaton Penelope I was curious to see where it sits amongst the other super 16mm cameras. anyone? Premium Member Vincent Sweeney Posted June 28, 2011 Premium Member Share Posted June 28, 2011 Both are great cams. The 416 is newer and has a better video tap, for one thing. Comparing the 416 to the Aaton Xtera is closer. Most information you might find comparing them is a matter of opinion so you have to test both on your own. The Penelope is a 35mm (and soon a 4 or 6K+ digital?) camera.
