Mickey Kafka
My friend is selling a bolex rex-5, and he asked me to help him test it, since I have an older version. I tried to wind this one, and it's not moving. The usual steps were taken. Switch is on MOT, not 0. The button at the bottom is in the "stop" position, not M. The rex-5 also has the newer rexofader attached, which I don't particularly know how to use, and wasn't sure if that has anything to do with the winding issue. But anyway, when I try winding it, it's not moving, kinda feels like it's stuck maybe. But maybe it's some internal thing that needs to be taken to a professional? Premium Member Dom Jaeger Posted December 2, 2011 Premium Member Share Posted December 2, 2011 Well you could try removing the rexofader in case it's somehow jamming the winding arm. The rexofader needs a special winder to work properly, with a gear above the axle thread. Maybe someone fitted the rexofader without changing the winder. Mickey Kafka
Thanks Dom, I'll try that. I think you may be right, it's something with the rexofader.
