carlos raul peralta Posted January 16, 2012 Share Posted January 16, 2012 Hi all, I'm shooting a scene for a music video and we don't have the budget to rent HMI's. I want to simulate sunlight coming through a window. My plan of attack is to place 2 arri 2k's outside of the windows. Now my question is this, which approach would allow me the most light intensity? Should I gel the lights CTB (I know this will reduce the light by 2 stops) or gel the physical window CTO? If I gel the window CTO would the tungsten 2k's coming inside stay the same color temperature 3200k? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

What you'd do is tent the window to kill the daylight; block it out, and then throw in your own lights. I believe you can project your 2K tungsten (maybe with fresnel lens opened) through the window without any gelling and blocking the daylight. And in that way simulate late afternoon, low sun.
