Chase Gardiner
This is the reel I created about 3 years ago when I had very little professional experience and most of the shots here were from random personal projects and nothing that had any kind of budget. I am now working on a new reel and am looking for some suggestions as far as flow and organization goes. Would everyone suggest grouping each project together, using already edited pieces, using effected pieces, or taking more the approach I did years ago here and just taking my favourite shots and compiling them cut to some music? Thanks for the help! http://vimeo.com/26188366
linus rosenqvist
Make it shorter and focus on either ficton or non ficton. There are really no clients that would look for both. If you want to have both areas then its better to have two diffrent showreels
alex payne
as far as grouping them together or not, it really depends on the footage you're working with. if you have a broad series of cool shots that are at least somewhat similar, then don't worry about grouping them together. if you're only drawing from a few projects and they're all very distinct, might be better to keep them with the other shots from the project. some shots may look bland or confusing by themselves but work fantastically as part of their sequence.
