Benjamin Clarke
I picked up some 16mm film 3 years ago and I found an unused roll last week. Now I always keep my film in the fridge, but this one wasn't. I live in an area where it can be pretty cold, and pretty darn hot. Any way I can tell if this is still usable? Premium Member Charles MacDonald Posted April 17, 2012 Premium Member Share Posted April 17, 2012 Standard answer is to ask a lab to test it. They will cut off about 5-10 feet and process it, and then read the desity to see how much fog it has developed. They might even use a sensitometer to expose a test in the trial film. depending on the speed of the film - faster film is more likely to shift - you probably will come out OK.
