Premium Member Bruce Southerland Posted August 25, 2012 Premium Member Share Posted August 25, 2012 Anyone having problems finding helium for lighting balloons? Working on a production in B'ham, AL & the closest helium that could be found was in Miami!
Torben Greve
Im totally ignorant on this, but what about those festival retailers? Often you can buy packages where you by so and so many party balloons and they throw in the adequate amount of helium for them... toss the balloons and use the helium. This is just for an example: http://ballonsalg.dk/shop/ballongas-helium-kit-7c1.html?gclid=COz85Yb-hbICFYZ2cAodd1EAKw Edited August 26, 2012 by Torben Greve

Best of luck,
Premium Member Bruce Southerland Posted August 26, 2012 Author Premium Member Share Posted August 26, 2012 I was not personally involved in the search, but I believe the people involved would have known where to look. There was talk on the set about a nation wide helium shortage. Just wanted to find out if it was true, or just a rumor that was overblown(pun intended). Oliver Hadlow Martin
No Helium is a finite resource and it's running out (at least the bits we can access anyway for a long time), hence why it's getting quite expensive. There is about 8 years left of helium before it runs out sadly. The days of the balloon may be numbered. http://www.independe...gh-8081382.html Edited August 27, 2012 by Olliehm
