James Steven Beverly
I'm putting together a budget for a feature right now, (SAG Low Budget range) to be shot in and around Palmdale and LA. I've been able to find a lot of the numbers I need but I have a few question on some stuff. The project is ambitious for it's budget but doable and of course, I want to keep costs down. Here what I need to know who has the best deals on production vehicles in LA? Older equipment in good condition is fine if the price break is significant and everything works. Here are the specific vehicles I need info on: Camera Truck 1 ton van (removable back seats if poss.) 24 pass. bus Honeywagon (4 place) Trailers (3) Motorhome (40ft.) As for the FX stuff: Large wind machine Large fog machine Smoke machine I'm going to continue my own research BUT it is possible some of you know a few people out there that can beat the big guy's prices and I can put more money up on the screen instead of leaving it in the production process. Thanks for the help!
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted March 31, 2013 Premium Member Share Posted March 31, 2013 It's my first time using them this weekend; but LAGrip was pretty helpful with me on a budget for a 2-ton package. I don't see Fog ect listed, but might be worth the call to them to see if they can source it: http://www.lagrip.com/
Alan Rencher
I've heard nothing but bad things about LA Grip. Every single persone that I know who has worked on set with them had nothing good to say about them or their equipment. Here's a guy I recommend. He and his gear are great! http://www.justneeds2.com/
