Alex Anstey
Apologies if this has been mentioned before but this is awesome - the fourth person in space, cosmonaut Gherman Titov, took with him a Konvas to film his view from Vostok 2. Apparently this was the first use of a 35mm camera by an astronaut in space (Alan Shepard took some 16mm footage on his flight). More details here: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:XzfMMjFknP4J:blogs.airspacemag.com/daily-planet/2011/08/the-first-photographer-in-space/+http://blogs.airspacemag.com/daily-planet/2011/08/the-first-photographer-in-space/ And here is the extraordinary film! (skip to 5:49 for the footage from the Konvas - although the whole thing is well worth a watch) Makes me very proud of my camera's heritage! :)
