David Cunningham
Hi All, I have been working with both DPX log and DMIN/DMAX Prores 4444 2K flat scan files. I just cannot get the skin tones right, or really colors as a whole. I have tried both effects in Premiere Pro/After Effects and Speegrade. I pretty much get the same results either way... just an unpleasing skin tone. I feel like I should generally just need to do a gamma correction, but apparently it's way more than that. I've tried the Cineon effect as well as various other RGB and Gamma correction effects/tools. I never seem to be able to get the right result. Here is the look I am trying to match: See the end of the video... around 2:37 Here is a DPX files I'm working with that I just cannot seem to get even close.. http://www.nevintagefilms.com/asdvadsfadsf0.dpx
Chris Burke
Looks okay to me. I only looked at 2:30 on... What specifically do you not like about the skin tones?
David Cunningham
I think you misunderstand. The Vimeo clip was professionally graded. When I try to match that look with the attached DPX file I can even come close. The skin is greyish or even green and the shadows are flat and noisy. In general, I can't even get the colors to match like on his shirt or even the grass in the background.
