Please take some time to view my short film....

SYNOPSIS:

The primary objective was to offer new perspectives of time that we experience everyday. Secondary objectives included creating a multi-narrative experimental documentary, revealing elements of design through time manipulation and deriving a personal touch by involving locations around Wellington, New Zealand, that I have come to know over the course of this degree.

The eastern perspective is involved to create a cyclical structure, and to create a solid structure to which the film can be composed. The film contains over 50 hours of recorded footage compressed into 12 minutes.

NOTES: Shot on Sony TRV950e over 4 months. Solo project.

That was very, very impressive. It's obvious you have a great eye for composition. And still a student! You kept the video contrast range in check very well over a stunning variety of locations. I especially enjoyed the final act when the editing sync was very literal with the percussion. During the first section I was thinking during some of the shots that I'd like to see the speed vary a bit more, but I got my fix of that as it progressed along. I'd never seen boats in time-lapse before, that was a cool look.

My only suggestion would be, knowing you spent an incredible amount of time on this, it would probably be worth doing some motion stabilization surgery on 10 or 12 of the shots where the camera bump is more obvious.

I bet you'd have really good luck with this on the festival circuit. I even enjoyed the title design.

Nice job!

Congratulations, that was excellent.

If anything I found it a bit too long but it seems like you had certain structure all thought out. Perhaps based on the lenght and form of the music? Or was the music composed for the piece?

Anyway, that was a treat.

Great work!! I watched it without sound (something i usually do), and i never became bored with your piece. The long version is amazing but it would be nice to have a 3/4 minute version to grab shots that are the best of the best- this might fly better with most audiences.

Bravo!!
