Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted April 24, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted April 24, 2005 Saw this charming if slight romantic comedy from Italy today. After some time, I started wondering if this was shot in 24P HD or I was just seeing some of the look of a DI. It was hard to tell until they got to some night scenes where the motion "lag" was more like an HD camera's. But I will say that overall this was a really nice-looking movie in a freeform sort of way, sort of like the way Patrice Leconte directed "Girl on the Bridge". Nice use of colors and natural light, etc. Being about someone's love for early cinema, who works in a film museum in Turin, with some hand-cranked 9.5mm b&w footage cut into the movie, it's odd to have chosen HD as the shooting format, but like I said, most of the time, it looks very film-like.
