Phillip Mosness
Hello, I'm wondering if the slight ghosting of the previous frame is inherent in the Spirit transfer process. In the screen grab, you can see it around the eye and cheek of this snowman. The lines are where those were on the previous frame. Is this found with use in Arri scans, etc.? Thanks
Site Sponsor Perry Paolantonio Posted May 15, 2014 Site Sponsor Share Posted May 15, 2014 (edited) It's hard to say without seeing the raw, uncompressed sequence, but it's possible the transfer was done with some kind of noise reduction hardware in the signal path. If the settings are too aggressive, this kind of thing can happen. That shouldn't happen with a frame-by-frame film scanner (not just the Arriscan).
