Geoffrey Chandler
Is there such a thing as a wide-angle lens attachment for the Scoopic? Geoffrey www.chandlervideo.com
Premium Member Will Montgomery Posted June 10, 2014 Premium Member Share Posted June 10, 2014 Canon made one that kind of clips on to it. Kinda rare, I've seen about 3 or 4 of them over the last 10 years or so.

Premium Member Satsuki Murashige Posted June 14, 2014 Premium Member Share Posted June 14, 2014 I bought one of these Red Eye wide angle adapters for my Scoopic M years ago, it works great: http://www.vfgadgets.com/shop/wide-angle-adaptors/redeye-wide-angle-adapter/. It's nice and small, the limitations are that you have to put the Scoopic lens into Macro mode to focus, and you can't hold focus when you zoom. Reasonable trade off for the size and weight, IMO. I just wish it had filter threads on the front. The 0.7x adapter turns the 12.5mm into a 8.75mm lens, which is a signficant focal length change. There is some barrel distortion but I find it to be an acceptable amount.

Bengt Freden
Hi Geoffrey,I know I read somewhere (some time ago) that the special clip-on wide lens attachment that Canon made for the Canon 16M Scoopic (the 1st camera with 'Macro' mode on the zoom lens) was specially developed for the Scoopic lens, which renders straight lines straight, even very close up to the front lens. Here's your camera - try clicking "Specifications" or "Catalogue" in the top menue: http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/camera/cine/data/1971-1982/1973_sc16m.html?lang=us&categ=crn&page=1971-1982&p=1 All the best, Bengt in Stockholm ;)
