Sadie Granberg
This is my first post here. I have a question I've been wondering for a while - is it possible to mix LED lights and tungsten lights well? I would like to know if its possible and then how to do it? I have a two light tungsten set up, 500W and 1,000W and I'd like to add an LED panel to get a three light setup without having to worry about overloading the power on unknown locations, being able to easily use the super softness of the LED light and so on. Any advice?
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted August 30, 2014 Premium Member Share Posted August 30, 2014 The same issues apply when mixing Kinoflos and tungsten -- generally I try to make sure that the key lights in the scene are the same type for each person so that one face isn't keyed by tungsten and that is intercut with another face lit by LED or Kino. But other than the key light, it matters less for fill or edge and backlights if you mix them up.
