Premium Member Tyler Purcell Posted April 17, 2015 Author Premium Member Share Posted April 17, 2015 Ouch!!! That's some expensive filtration! Interesting idea though, thanks for mentioning it. :)
Premium Member Satsuki Murashige Posted April 18, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted April 18, 2015 The True NDs are awesome. Greg, have you been able to test the Formatt Firecrest ND filters yet? I hear they are on par with the Mitomos but have not seen them myself. Would be interesting to compare the two brands.
John E Clark
Yea, the polymer filters are HORRIBLE anyway. They really make stuff look like poop. Here is a great example… the beginning of this video is shot with 2x.9 ND's and I couldn't correct the problem. For me the look of the redish cast is sort of 'even' across the entire frame. I would conjecture if it were 'Infra Red', then sources of infra red scatter/reflection, in the scene would show pollution. Hence I would not expect to see it in the 'clear sky' area. Jean-Marc Plante
Buy a srew-on Variable ND, let's say 77mm if you're using old SLR lenses, and get cheap step-downs?
