Adam William
Hello, New to the forums, thought I'd lean on you guys for some advice. I'm trying to start out for the first time as a Camera PA/Trainee in the Toronto area. Unsurprisingly, I'm having difficulty finding any work. I'm avoiding volunteer/free work as I do have bills to pay, and unless I can quit my day job and do male stripping on the weekends I don't really see that being a reality for me. I know it's common advice - "volunteer! impress people! network!" - but I'm not 18 any more living in my Mom's house. I can bust my ass, ask questions, do the work, put in the time and deal with the drama but I need to get paid. So with that said, looking for any advice on good ways to move forward. Kyryll Sobolev
check out iatse 667's website for the trainee program details, and see if you want to apply otherwise - find every commercial/tv production house in toronto and walk in there and tell them what you said here they are always looking for PAs (and CPAT rates for PAs are 200-250/day)
