Max Field
Was scanning shotonwhat and came across Blackmagic's filmography https://shotonwhat.com/maggie-2015 I find it very interesting that a film with this big of a release (although it unfortunately failed to make its budget back at the box office) was using something as inexpensive as a Blackmagic camera. Do you guys think it was the BM4K or BMCC? Was the URSA even out at the time of its shooting?
Landon D. Parks
It was shot almost entirely on the Alexa, with the remaining being a mixture of BM Cinema Camera and RED Epic. Honestly, 'Shot on what' is not really that accurate of a source. Sometimes they are right, sometimes they are just wrong, and in this case - they where partially right. Max Field
Then why is Blackmagic the only thing listed here? I heard a couple people here saying ShotOnWhat was a more reliable source than something like an IMDB for tech specs.
Landon D. Parks
Basically, 'shot on what' can only get the data that is already available. They pull data from IMDb, interview with cinematographers, etc. Here is a quote from an Indiewire article: What cameras did you shoot on?Arri Alexa for 99.3% with some Blackmagic cinema camera and Red Epic.
