Welcome to the the Director's Cut, the ultimate monthly contest for filmmakers to win between $1,000-$6,000 in cash, production and educational aid and other sponsored prizes as well as garner the participation of an audience via the world wide web screenings of their Short Films. Please join us at the launch event on July 25th '05 7:00PM where we will be screening the 10 entrants to a panel of established Directors, Film Critics, Agents and Celebrity guests. You will get to network in a wonderful creative atmosphere with complimentary drinks. It will be hosted at The Gallery, 7 East 27th Street New York, NY. Please RSVP as numbers are limited. Admission fee is $5. Filmmakers ! we are accepting entries NOW! for the launch event. Closing date is July 15th. Entries can be Short Films or Trailers between 2-10 min in length including credits. Short film submission fee is $30. Remember, we will only accept up to 500 entries a month, or you automatically roll over to the next month. You can submit via our site at www.thedirectorscut.org. THE VIEWER'S CHOICE AWARD Every month, up to 500 entrants will submit their shorts for review by the Director's Cut committee which comprises of an unbiased group of qualified members of the film industry. The committee selects 20 shorts to screen on the Director's Cut website (www.thedirectorscut.org) where they are displayed to a potential audience of millions to vote on their favorite short film. The highest scoring Short will then win The Director's Cut Viewer's choice award comprising of a trophy, cash prize and being featured on the site for the following month.The winner along with the other 9 highest scoring entrants will go on to compete for the Director's Cut Award. THE DIRECTOR'S CUT AWARD This will soon be a coveted award to any filmmakers credits. 10 of the Highest scoring shorts online will be screened at the Director's Cut event in front of the Director's Cut Panel of judges and audience of 350 people at The Gallery (www.gallerynyc.com) located at 7 East 27th street Manhattan New York. This Panel comprises of established Directors, Producers, Film Critics, Agents and Celebrities. To have such an esteemed collection of people to offer their critical opinions is priceless.
