Premium Member Chris Cooke Posted June 20, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted June 20, 2005 I'm shooting a television show this summer and I want to put two LCD's behind the talent on set. I will be lighting with tungsten lamps but the color tempurature of the LCD is around 4800k. What's the best way to bring the color temp down to 3600k? I'm thinking a CTO gel on the screen but how do I mount it? Will static hold it? Is there special tape that I can get? There are no internal settings that bring the temp down lower than 4800k. Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted June 20, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted June 20, 2005 Hi, Are there no colour controls on the display? If not, you could preprocess the video you're going to display to make it look correct, if you have that opportunity. Otherwise, yeah, it's CTO time. No idea how you'd mount it. Perhaps take the case off the LCD and clamp it against the display panel itself using the bezel? Phil
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted June 20, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted June 20, 2005 If you are shooting the material to appear on the monitors, you could shoot with an extra 85 filter to make it look orangey.
Premium Member Chris Cooke Posted June 21, 2005 Author Premium Member Share Posted June 21, 2005 I like the idea of shooting the footage that I put on the screen extra warm. The footage has allready been shot though, so I think that we'll color correct the footage before playing it through our LCD's. Thanks David and Phil.
